The Zahra Handworks Foundation was initiated by Indigo as a part of her service learning degree requirement for her master's degree in Ecopsychology at Naropa University. She quickly realized that something of consequence was developing. Now, with the help of many friends, allies, and organizational partnerships, she carries Zahra forward into the future, holding the intention to spread it to where ever it is needed. It is because of the dedication and commitment of these people that Zahra is able to exist.
Zahra is organized as a non-profit without members in the State of Oregon and is registered as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit with the Internal Revenue Service. It is run by an executive director and volunteers, including
but not limited to the board of directors and officers. The board of directors provide guidance and steering for the organization. To be a Zahra board member, one must be an affiliate.
